MINISTERS OF ARTS AND CULTURE
For the Beakerhead Festival in Calgary, the Ministers of Arts and Culture is a pair of planetary figures made of customized interlocking panels. Only one has an interior; the other is raised above the ground.
While the one Minister, named Nancy, is made of pliable, translucent material with openings, Sputnik, the other, is a metal monocoque held aloft on a field of legs. This pair of Ministers are networked together in a steady-state energy. This schema has an outcome of the inverse relationship. As one objects gains attention, the other glows brighter in jealousy.
This project is part of a larger conceptual project on Architecture as Public Officer.
