kumiho
For a museum of urbanism and architecture in the city of Sejong, a series of great halls were placed in quadrants and interlinked with galleries. The multiple great halls would decenter a single narrative and allow for multiple histories of architecture and urbanism to be exchanged.
A kumiho, or a nine-tailed fox (九尾狐), is a mythical creature from Korean folklore. In a building form, different forms and scales come together into an uncommon whole. The building appears to shapeshift as its interiors unfold.
